Biography

Atle H. Carlsen is Managing Partner and CEO of Brækhus, a role he has held since April 2023. Atle has more than 20 years of leadership experience from the Norwegian Armed Forces, from management consulting, and from professional services as Chief Executive Officer of one of Norway's largest law firms. He has more than 10 years of experience in strategy and business development, organisational development, cost efficiency and change management from his roles as a management consultant at Arthur D. Little and The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). At BCG, Atle held several leadership positions in strategic HR at Nordic, European and global level. He also led BCG's global resource allocation function and headed the firm's Global People Team for several years. From 2016 to 2023, Atle served as Chief Executive Officer of the law firm Selmer. During this period, the firm implemented significant improvement initiatives and expanded geographically, into new practice areas and financially, delivering strong annual financial growth throughout his tenure. Atle holds an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, a Bachelor's degree in International Business, and is a graduate of the Norwegian Military Academy (Krigsskolen) and the Norwegian Army Officer Candidate School (Befalsskolen).
