Anjali Balagopal

Biography

Anjali Balagopal is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Tata Technologies and a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Committee. With over 20 years of experience in corporate and commercial law, dispute resolution, regulatory governance, intellectual property, data protection, and compliance, she leads the global legal and regulatory strategy for Tata Technologies and its group companies. Anjali joined Tata Technologies in July 2020, after serving as Assistant General Counsel and Associate Vice President at Infosys Ltd. Her experience in cross‑border transactions, large‑scale technology contracting, and global compliance frameworks has positioned her as a trusted advisor to senior leadership teams. At Tata Technologies, she oversees all aspects of legal governance, including commercial contracting, employment and labor law, compliance and ethics, dispute management, data privacy, and intellectual property. She works closely with the Company Board’s Audit Committee and plays a key role in strengthening governance structures that support the company’s growth globally. Anjali has led several major transformation initiatives, including the creation of a high‑performing legal department, implementation of a global Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool, establishment of a worldwide compliance management system, institutionalization of data privacy frameworks, and development of a dedicated IP practice aligned to the company’s innovation strategy. A significant milestone in her leadership has been managing the legal workstream for Tata Technologies’ Initial Public Offer (IPO) in India. Beyond her legal responsibilities, Anjali is the Sponsor Leader for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) at Tata Technologies. She drives the company’s strategic DEI agenda across hiring, communication, enablement, and growth programs. She is also actively involved in mentoring legal counsels and women leaders within the organization.
