Biography
Shashwat Patel is a senior international corporate lawyer turned entrepreneur, qualified in New York, England & Wales, and India, with over 15 years of experience advising the world's leading private capital funds. He is now the Founder and CEO of Perry AI, a legal AI startup building the legal operating system for the multi-trillion dollar private markets ecosystem, with a mission to accelerate fundraising and dealmaking by 10x through customized agentic AI solutions.
Shashwat began his legal career at Amarchand & Mangaldas in Mumbai, before moving to international practice at Debevoise & Plimpton and later Simmons & Simmons in London, where he served as Head of their India Group. His deep cross-border expertise spans private equity, M&A, fund secondaries, and asset management transactions.
Throughout his legal career, Shashwat represented prominent clients including BlackRock, Brookfield, Invesco, Clayton Dubilier & Rice, HarbourVest, and GSK, among others. He also served as seconded legal counsel to Deutsche Bank's PE secondaries group in London (now part of CVC Glendower Capital).
Shashwat holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, where he graduated with High Honors as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and completed an executive-MBA at Columbia Business School. He has been recognized in leading global legal directories and was selected for Antler's highly competitive founder residency program in London (top ~2% of applicants).
