Biography

Sharmistha Chakrabarti advises clients in complex matters before arbitral tribunals, domestic courts, and regulators globally across industries such as telecommunications, oil and gas, intellectual property, media, and cryptocurrencies. She has represented clients in commercial and investor-state arbitrations before tribunals constituted under the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the American Arbitration Association/International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI) and the United Nations Commission of International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). She also regularly provides strategic advice on drafting dispute resolution clauses in international commercial contracts. In recognition of her work, Ms. Chakrabarti was recognized as a Future Star by Benchmark Litigation 2026 and selected for inclusion in the publication’s 2024 40 and Under list. She was also named to Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Global Litigators list, Lawdragon’s 500 X — The Next Generation list and India Business Law Journal’s A-List: India’s International Top Lawyers in 2025.
