Biography
Martín joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2003. He is the partner who leads the regulatory practice of the Life Sciences and Healthcare Departments at Marval (full-service firm +600). He provides both contentious and non-contentious legal advice to leading global companies on regulatory strategies and compliance matters ranging from the client’s day-to-day business to complex cross-border transactions, start-ups, joint ventures, M&As, spin-offs, product liability, contracts, compliance training, monitoring, audits and investigations, (trial and pre-trial) administrative proceedings and litigation, and civil and commercial advice in general. His areas of expertise are bio-pharmaceuticals, healthcare, health-tech, medical devices, dental products, cosmetics, toiletries and perfumes, households cleaning products, food industry, animal health and food, food contact products, and agribusiness (seeds, agrochemicals, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, fertilizers, growth regulators, GMOs and other related products), chemicals, among other industries. Martin helps his clients by delivering sophisticated, high-quality and multi-practice work in cross-discipline matters for complex projects, enhancing the outcome for the client. Martín graduated from Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) with a law degree in 2002 and completed specializations in: Regulatory Matters in the Pharmaceutical Industry (at the School of Medicine – UBA) and in Corporate Advice in International Trade of Goods, Financial Operations and Payment Methods in Contemporary Commercial Law (at the School of Law – UBA). He is also certified by the Latin America Healthcare Compliance Certification Program from Seton Hall School of Law (US University), and he is a faculty member and part of the program’s board. Martín is frequently invited to speak at Healthcare & Life Sciences conferences and seminars and has written many articles on the subject. He is an active member of the Life Sciences practice group of the International Bar Association (IBA - Life Sciences), the Health Care and Life Sciences Practice Group of Lex Mundi (Global co-chair, and former regional vice-chair for Latam and the Caribbean), AmCham’s Health Group, member of the LATAM Advisory Board from Seton Hall School of Law (US University) for the Latin America Healthcare Compliance Certification Program, Argentine representative at the Food Lawyers Network (FLN), and a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association.
