Ananya Sharma Group General Counsel, JSW Group Ananya is an accomplished legal professional with more than 18 years of extensive experience across corporate law, private equity, regulatory compliance, litigation, and strategic advisory. As the Group General Counsel of JSW Group, one of India’s largest and most diversified conglomerates, Ananya leads the legal function for JSW in India and abroad, spanning steel, energy, infrastructure, paints, automotive, cement, defense, sports, venture capital, and real estate. In this critical leadership role, Ananya drives the legal strategy and governance for the group in India and abroad, ensuring compliance with complex regulatory frameworks while managing high-stakes transactions, litigation, and risk mitigation. Prior to joining JSW Group, Ananya was a Partner at AZB & Partners, one of India’s most prestigious law firms. At AZB, Ananya advised marquee clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, defense, structured finance and infrastructure, gaining several accolades and recognition for strategic problem-solving and deal execution. Ananya also gained valuable in-house experience during a stint with ICICI Bank, India’s largest private-sector bank. Ananya is a trusted advisor to the senior leadership and board of JSW Group, earning a reputation for integrity, foresight, and excellence in corporate governance. In addition to professional achievements, Ananya is passionate about thought leadership in the legal field and contributes actively to industry discussions on emerging trends in corporate law, compliance, and regulatory landscapes.
