Biography

Roddy is a leading cross border, public & private, M&A lawyer, with particular expertise in both inbound and outbound M&A involving newly industrialised economies, notably India and China. Roddy Co-Heads HSF's India practice and, since 2012, has advised a wide range of Indian clients such as the Tata Group, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Group, United Spirits, United Breweries, ABD, Hero Motor and Mahindra, as well as MNCs and private capital houses doing deals in India. Roddy also heads the Global Automotive practice at HSF which advises a wide range of leading OEMs, suppliers and distributors across the globe. In 2024 Roddy advised Wincanton plc on its $1.2bn takeover by GXO Logistic Inc., Inchcape plc on the $450m auction sale of its UK Retail business to Group 1 Automotive Inc. and continued to advise Agratas (a Tata Enterprise) on its EV battery Gigafactory projects.
