Biography

Frederique Gilain was the Chief Legal Officer at BFAM Partners (Hong Kong) Limited until September 2024. Prior to joining BFAM in 2018, Frederique was a Managing Director and head of Equity Legal for Asia Pacific at Goldman Sachs. Between 2001 and 2010, Frederique held various positions at Lehman Brothers in Tokyo and London, including as Regional Equity counsel Asia, Co-Head of Equity Legal EMEA, Head of Corporate EMEA Equity Derivatives Execution Group, Head of Global Finance Legal and worked for Lehman Brothers International (Europe) (in administration) assisting the administrator and external counsel in the early years of the Lehman administration. From 1994 to 2000, Frederique was legal counsel at Societe Generale both in Paris and in Tokyo, where she moved in 1998 to set up and lead Societe Generale's legal department for their Japan operations. Frederique began her career in law in 1990 in Paris.
