Biography

Lucia is a qualified attorney with 19 years of practical legal experience in several areas of the legal sector from various roles at top tier global law firms, to legal project management, legal technology (design and implementation), process innovation and building the South African business of a UK-headquartered Law Company. She has a wealth of operational experience delivering large and strategic projects across multiple regions, including the UK, EU, US, Africa and APAC. She has developed a unique set of multi-disciplinary skills, including: legal tech knowledge and capability, legal project management, adaptability, resourcefulness, analytical thinking/problem solving, pro-activity, process design & implementation, and operating with/through a lean team. Lucia currently works at the forefront of collaboration and business innovation in her current role as the Lead for Webber Wentzel's Fusion team, where she straddles strategy and operations in a tactical role, driving change, leading delivery on client matters and initiatives for the firm's various internal practice groups. The Fusion team is where the firm spearheads alternative legal solutions, use client-centric delivery methods, apply legal technology and artificial intelligence, and champion other innovative "NewLaw" strategies, including process improvement and data analytics. Lucia brings her robust legal and operational experience to design and deliver effective, efficient and integrated legal solutions for clients, using an appropriate blend of alternative resourcing, legal technology, legal project management and process improvements. She embraces the use of technology and modern legal delivery models to drive innovation, solve complex problems and provide meaningful value to clients.
