Biography

Nicholas Tan is a Partner and Deputy Head of the Corporate/M&A Practice Group at Shearn Delamore & Co. in Malaysia, with 20 years of experience in private practice. He advises Malaysian and international clients on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, foreign investments, joint ventures and corporate restructurings across a broad range of industries, including education, manufacturing, healthcare, energy and infrastructure. He also regularly advises listed and private companies, boards and shareholders on corporate governance, regulatory compliance and shareholders’ matters. Nicholas is actively involved in the International Bar Association and serves as an officer of the IBA Asia Pacific Regional Forum. He is recognised for his Corporate/M&A practice by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500. He holds a Master of Commercial Law from University Malaya and an MBA from the University of Nottingham, and is a Barrister-at-Law of Lincoln’s Inn.
