Jay Santiago
Biography
Jay Patrick R. Santiago is an independent ADR practitioner based in the Philippines. He is an attorney in the Philippines and a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with over a decade of legal experience in Hong Kong and Manila. He has acted as an arbitrator, counsel, party representative, and tribunal secretary in multiple domestic and international arbitrations. His current role in a tech company allows him to deal with various legal issues in the ASEAN region. Jay is currently a Trustee of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the Professional Development & Education Committee of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution, a member of the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum In-House Counsel Committee, a country representative of HK45, and the Co-Chair of the CIArb YMG Philippine Chapter. Jay is an accredited arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, the Philippine International Center for Conflict Resolution, and the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Philippines, which qualifies him to be an arbitrator in arbitrations involving government agencies in the Philippines. Jay obtained his LLM degree (Merit) from the London School of Economics and Political Science and his JD degree (Second Honors; St. Thomas More Most Distinguished Graduate Awardee) from the Ateneo De Manila University School of Law where he currently teaches Conflict of Laws. He regularly conducts lectures on various topics relating to international arbitration, private international law, investment treaty arbitration, insolvency proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution.
