Murphy Mok

Biography

Murphy specialises in international arbitration involving construction and commercial disputes. Murphy has extensive experience in advising Chinese and international clients from a wide range of industries on cross-border disputes, particularly those related to construction and engineering, power, infrastructure and energy, as well as disputes arising from share purchase agreements, shareholders agreements and supply agreements. He acts in international arbitration under various institutional rules (including HKIAC, SIAC, ICC, KCAB and VIAC). As a construction specialist, Murphy also regularly assists clients with project execution issues, dispute avoidance and contract drafting and negotiation in major infrastructure projects around the world. Murphy is recognised as Arbitration Future Leader in Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration 2023. He is a regular speaker on arbitration and construction topics. He is a member of the HK45 Committee at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Global Advisory Board of the Young Arbitration Group at the Centre for International Investment and Commercial Arbitration, and the Society of Construction Law. Murphy was also a member of the ICC Belt and Road Commission between 2020 and 2022. Background Murphy is dual-qualified in England and Wales and Australia (New South Wales). He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese and advises clients in all three languages. Before relocating to Hong Kong, Murphy practised in Beijing, Shanghai and London.
