Biography

Phillip Schmidt is a senior legal counsel at Zimmer Biomet’s EMEA headquarters in Switzerland, a leading manufacturer of orthopaedic implants. He is lead counsel for the EMEA Customer Excellence function and is responsible for all product liability as well as cross border litigation in EMEA. Phillip advises on all legal matters in Switzerland, the UK and Ireland and of the Quality/Regulatory teams. He also chairs the company’s global Competition Law practice group. Phillip is admitted to the New York and the Swiss bars and holds degrees from Columbia Law School (LL.M.) and University of St. Gallen (Masters in Law and Economics and International Management). Before moving in-house, he practiced in a major Swiss law firm for several years.
