Biography
Dr Maria João C. P. Rolim is a lawyer and an economist expert on electricity regulation, energy law and sustainability, practicing in all segments. She is partner at the Brazilian law firm Rolim, Goulart, Cardoso. Dr. Rolim has a PhD from the Dundee University Centre for Energy, Petroleum, and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) an LLM in EU Law at London School of Economics- LSE in London and a Master in Law in Energy law at Minas Gerais Federal University- UFMG , Brazil. Between 2019 and 2021 she was President of the Energy Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association- São Paulo Section and President of Economic regulation commission Minas Gerais . Has taught courses on electric energy sector regulation at a number of Brazilian institutions, and given speeches at energy seminars in multiple countries. As an Angolan and Portuguese national, educated in Brazil and UK, Rolim has knowledge of local conditions in diverse countries.
