Biography

Louis G. Hering is a partner at the Wilmington, Delaware law firm of Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP. He practices primarily in the alternative entity area with an emphasis on private equity. He is a member (and past chair) of the Limited Partnership and LLC Committee of the Delaware Bar Association, which is responsible for updating Delaware’s partnership and LLC statutes, and is also a member of the Committee on LLCs, Partnerships and Unincorporated Business Associations of the Business Law Section of the ABA, the Board of Directors of the Working Group on Legal Opinions, the Opinion Committee of the Business Law Section of the ABA and the TriBar Opinion Committee. He has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America since 2007 and was designated “Lawyer of the Year” in business organizations, 2023, he has been listed in Chambers USA: Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business since 2006 as a leader in Delaware Corporate/M&A and has been listed since 2014 in the Who’s Who Legal Private Funds – Delaware. He is a frequent speaker on alternative entity topics and has authored numerous publications on alternative entities.
