Adam Shayne
Biography
Adam Shayne – Chief Counsel, World Bank Adam Shayne is currently the Chief Counsel for the Europe and Central Asia Region and the Latin American and the Caribbean Region in the World Bank’s Legal Department. From 2016 to 2020, Adam served as the Chief Counsel for the Africa and Middle East and North Africa Regions. Adam has worked in various positions at the World Bank inside and outside of the Legal Department since November 1997. He has served as legal counsel to the Board of Executive Directors and Board of Governors, Coordinator of the Conflict Resolution System, and Senior Strategy Officer in the Department of Institutional Integrity. He has also worked on operations as a country lawyer in Africa, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. From 1991 to 1997, Adam worked in private practice in Washington, D.C., where he specialized in litigation and internal investigations. He is admitted to the Illinois and D.C. bars. Adam graduated from Yale College with a B.A. in History in 1987 and received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1990.
