Biography

Andreas has thirty years of experience in complex international M&A and Private Equity transactions and restructurings. After articling with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in Frankfurt, Andreas started this career in M&A departments of Bruckhaus Westrick Stegemann (now Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer) and von Boetticher Hasse Kaltwasser (now von Boetticher) where he advised financial and strategic investors such as Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bahn AG and Safilo SpA on their investments in Germany. From 2000 to 2022 he was a corporate partner with GSK Stockmann in their Munich office, before opening his own boutique law firm, aB Legal Advisory GmbH, on April 1, 2023. aB Legal specializes in ESG and Green Deal Economy. Andreas was an officer in the IBA's Restrucurturing & Insolvency committee from 2015 to 2021. He is fluent in German, English, Italian, French and Spanish. He holds a SJD degree (summa cum laude) from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Law School in Munich and an LL.M. (with highest honors) from the National Law Center at George-Washington University, Washington, D.C. He is also a certified Board Member (Steinbeis Academy), a CPEA Certified Private Equity Analyst (TUM Munich) and a certified turn-around and restructuring advisor (BRSI e.V.).
