Biography

President of the Portuguese Association of Real Estate Developers and Investors - APPII Vice-President of CPCI - Portuguese Confederation of Construction and Real Estate Member of the plenary of CES - Economic and Social Council Councillor of the National Housing Council and of the Municipal Housing Councils of the Lisbon, Setúbal, Braga and Matosinhos City Councils. Member of the Jury for real estate sector awards in Portugal, namely the EXPRESSO SIC NOTÍCIAS Real Estate Awards, the National Real Estate Award - Real Estate Oscars, the SIL Real Estate Awards, the Iberian Property Awards and Aqua+ from Adene - the Energy Agency. Real Estate Personality of the Year, by Magazine Imobiliário, 2019; and in 2021 by Jornal Construir. Hugo Santos Ferreira, 40, President of APPII, the Portuguese Association of Property Developers and Investors, has gained visibility in the property sector and in the media, among other things due to its role on bringing foreign investment to Portugal. He defends the implementation of policies that allow everyone access to housing through the development of long-term policies and clear laws that provide fiscal stability in our country. At APPII, where he has been since 2014, Hugo Santos Ferreira has implemented his vision of modernity based on a highly professionalised service focused on creating value for companies. He has in-depth knowledge of the operations taking place in the property market and has been able to advise developers and investors from all walks of life. He is also responsible for the internationalisation of the sector, having promoted companies and players in France, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Brazil and Macau, among other countries. Hugo Santos Ferreira is also a guest speaker at lectures, seminars and debates, having taken part in the main market conferences and forums at national and international level, and is the author of several opinion articles in the main magazines and newspapers. He graduated from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and began his professional career as a trainee lawyer at Cuatrecasas, where he was a senior associate in the Real Estate, Construction and Tourism department.
