Biography

Mario Paura is partner at Stikeman Elliott and is Head of the Toronto Real Estate Group and Co-Head of the National Real Estate Group. He is an active member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Group and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Mario has over 25 years of experience focused on commercial real estate, financing, M&A and commercial leasing. Mario’s extensive real estate practice includes advising major Canadian and international corporate clients on all aspects involving the purchase, sale, financing and development of asset classes including retail and commercial, industrial and office, multi-residential, hospitality and entertainment properties, and REITs. Mario is consistently recognized as a leading lawyer by the legal industry’s most prominent directories including Chambers Canada, Best Lawyers and International Financial Law Review. He is the Co-Chair of the Servicing Industry Subcommittee of the International Bar Association, and a member of the Real Property Sections of the Canadian Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the International Bar Association, as well as the International Council of Shopping Centers. Mario is a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, elected member of the College’s Board of Regents, Provincial Chair for Ontario, and a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee for the College.
