Biography

Mr. Heather is the Senior Vice President of M&A and General Counsel of Macquarie Asset Management in Latin America. In addition, he serves as Chief Legal Officer of FIBRA Macquarie, a REIT listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange. Prior to joining Macquarie, Mr. Heather was a senior associate at González Calvillo, S.C. in Mexico City, where he practiced in the firm’s energy and infrastructure department with a focus on M&A, financing, and project-development transactions. Prior to that, he was a counsel at Haynes and Boone, L.L.P. in the Houston and Mexico City offices, where he practiced in the firm’s energy and projects and M&A departments with a focus on US domestic and Latin American transactions. Mr. Heather represented private equity funds, oil and renewable-power companies, EPC contractors, and financial institutions. Mr. Heather earned a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 2010 and a law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City in 2006.
