Biography

Ana García is the Managing Director of Cone Marshall Iberia. She began her professional career at Uría y Menéndez in the Financial Services and Banking Regulation department. In 2015, she joined Baker & McKenzie as a partner to lead the Banking Regulation and Financial Services and Fintech practice area. In 2019, she joined the Kutxabank Group as General Secretary and Head of the Legal Department of the Kutxabank Group. She is an adjunct professor at the Instituto de Empresa and directs several executive master's programs at IE and CEU. Currently, Ana García is the Head of the Legal Department of the Kutxabank Group and the General Secretary of the Group's Governing Bodies. With 90 people under her charge, despite her youth, her career is marked by numerous recognitions. She was selected as a "Woman to Watch" by PwC's 2021 program and received a CFA Institute Global Scholarship as a Woman Leader to pursue the CFA. She began her career at Uría y Menéndez and joined Baker & McKenzie in 2015, the world's largest law firm. Besides being the youngest partner ever appointed, she was chosen as a member of the Global Steering Committee for Fintech and FSR. Simultaneously, she assumed the academic direction of two executive programs in fintech and financial services at the Instituto de Empresa. A reference in the financial sector, she belongs to the advisory boards of numerous leading fintech companies in Spain and abroad, such as Fintech Valley, Geodb, and Card-Dynamics, among others. She is an academic member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, a founding partner of the Spanish Chapter of ELTA, and a regular contributor to numerous publications. She balances her professional development with her activities as a business angel and strategic advisor.
