Biography

Michael handles all forms of tax litigation and tax advisory work in Malaysia. Together with his team at Raja, Darryl & Loh, he has been representing clients on a wide range of tax-related matters before the Malaysian courts and tax tribunals, including those related to income tax, SST, GST, excise duties, customs duties, and customs tariff classification. Prior to joining RDL, he was a tax professional with EY Kuala Lumpur. The clients he helped advise there include multinational and Fortune 500 companies, some of which were listed on Bursa Malaysia, the New York’s Nasdaq stock exchange, the London Stock Exchange, or the Tokyo Stock Exchange. He is very grateful to the Taxes Committee for selecting him as its scholar to attend the 2024 IBA Annual Conference in Mexico. Michael recognises God’s overflowing grace in his life in the law, and believes that the fiscal policy of a country reflects both the maturity and the cultural level of its people.
