Biography

Gustavo Alcocer is a partner at OLIVARES, where he leads the corporate and commercial law group and co-chairs the data privacy, new technologies and life sciences groups. Gustavo draws on more than 30 years’ experience to advise domestic and international businesses on Mexican and cross-border transactions, specializing in IP-intensive sectors, franchising, distribution and supply chain. Gustavo holds a JD from Universidad Intercontinental Law School and Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and completed graduate studies at Fordham University’s School of Law. He is affiliated with several professional organizations, including The National Association of Corporate Lawyers (la Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa, or ANADE), Mexican Bar Association (Barra Mexicana de Abogados, or BMA), American Bar Association (ABA), International Association of Privacy Professional (IAPP), International Bar Association (IBA). Gustavo is fluent in English and Spanish.
