Natalie Kitroeff

Biography

Natalie Kitroeff is the New York Times bureau chief for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. She was part of a team of reporters that won a 2021 Polk award and were Pulitzer finalists for their coverage of the assassination of Haiti’s president. Ms. Kitroeff previously spent nearly three years as a business reporter, traveling across the United States covering the economy under former President Donald Trump and working on a series of investigations on pregnancy discrimination in the workplace. She was part of the team that won a Gerald Loeb award in 2019 for coverage of the fatal flaws in Boeing’s 737 Max jets. Before joining The Times in 2017, she was a business reporter at Bloomberg and The Los Angeles Times. She was a Loeb finalist for coverage of automation and blue-collar jobs and won two awards from the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing for her work as part of a team of reporters covering immigration and farm labor. She graduated from Princeton University and grew up outside Philadelphia.
