Biography
Uchechi Ucheoma Dibiaezue is a Nigerian Lawyer specialising in compliance and ethics, with expertise is in international law, human rights, and public procurement processes. She is currently with the Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC) Access to Justice team managing the Reforming Pretrial Detention in Nigeria Phase II Project, aimed at reducing the number of pretrial detainees across various states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria. Uchechi also serves as the Procurement Officer for the Court Administration and Case Management (CACM) Project focused on improving speedy dispensation of criminal Justice in select states.
Her extensive experience includes roles as part of the technical team of consultants for key projects. This includes providing continued technical support for increased transparency, effectiveness and efficiency in the public procurement agencies of ROLAC focal states in 2021 for the British Council Rule of Law and Anticorruption project; between 2017 - 2018 she contributed to the Scoping Survey and Gap Analysis of the Ethics Framework in Nigeria, a project implemented on behalf of the Technical Unit for Governance and Anticorruption Reform (TUGAR). Additionally, in 2015 uchechi played a key role in implementing a strategic component of the Access to Information Project implemented by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA).
Uchechi has an LLM (International Law) and an MPhil from the University of Aberdeen. She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and is also a qualified Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales.
