Nicholas Khan
Biography
Nicholas Khan was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1983 and has since practised almost exclusively in the field of European law, both in private practice at the Bar in London and for many years as a member of the Legal Service of the European Commission. His experience covers a wide range of matters, including; sex discrimination, free movement of persons, the Brussels Regulation on jurisdiction, anti-dumping, State aid and competition. He has represented the Commission in many significant competition and State aid cases, including Courage v. Crehan, JFE Engineering, BUPA, the Alumina State aid cases, the Gas Insulated Switchgear cartel, MasterCard, Intel, the Air freight cartel, the Micula State aid/arbitration cases in the English courts, the annulment and damages cases in UPS/TNT, all the Google cases currently before the Court and the cases arising out of Illumina/Grail. In recent advisory work, he has been involved in the Digital Markets Act and the revision of the Guidance on enforcement priorities under Article 102. He follows procedural matters particularly closely and is the author of the 6th Edition of Kerse and Khan, EU Anti-Trust Procedure.
