Mohammed Yusuf

Biography

Mohammed Suleh-Yusuf is a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria that was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2003. He holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Law from University of Maiduguri in Nigeria that was achieved in 2001 and a Masters Degree in International Commercial Law from the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom in 2009. Mohammed also holds a Ph.D in Law from Nasarawa State University in Nigeria. He has previously worked with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria as a pioneer staff in 2004. He has also worked at Standard Chartered Bank as its Financial Crimes Risk Manager for West Africa and later as its Country CDD Advisor for Nigeria between 2009 and 2013. He joined Etisalat Nigeria in 2013 as its Head of Public Policy, Government Affairs and Community Relations, where he handled policy formulation issues in the telecommunications sector as well as the management of the company’s relations with regulators and the legislature in Nigeria. Mohammed joined the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the regulator of the communications Sector in Nigeria, in 2018. He serves in the Legal and Regulatory Services Department, where he handles matters related to regulations, guidelines and laws. He has published several research papers on corporate criminal liability, money laundering and terrorism financing as well as his postdoctoral research areas of cyber security, data protection and internet security.
