Biography

William Woo is a Partner and the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Kelso & Company, a middle market private equity firm founded over 40 years ago. Prior to joining Kelso, William was a Managing Director and the Deputy General Counsel of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation. Before that, William was the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of North Cove Partners, a private equity firm spun out of Bank of America. Prior to the spin-out, William held various senior positions at Merrill Lynch and BAML, including lead counsel for BAML Capital Partners. William began his legal career as an Associate in the M&A group of Shearman & Sterling.
