Biography

James is a partner in the tax department at A & L Goodbody, based in Dublin, Ireland. James advises on all aspects of taxation law, with a particular focus on financial services and property related taxes, including structured finance transaction, capital market issues, investment funds and cross border financings, mergers and acquisitions, inward investment, group re-organisations and property acquisition and holding structures. James studied law at Trinity College, Dublin and is admitted as a solicitor in both Ireland and England and Wales. He is also an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute. James is the most recent chair of Main TALC, the main forum for liaison between tax practitioners in private practice and the Irish tax authority, the Revenue Commissioners. James also previously chaired the Foreign Lawyers Forum of the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association and the Taxation Committee of the Irish Law Society.
