Biography

Melanie-Maren Schroten joined Northrop Grumman’s Law Department in March 2017 as Corporate Counsel Europe. She is responsible for providing legal advice to the German and Italian subsidiaries as well as to three NG programs in Germany and Italy. Melanie is furthermore the point of contact for export and import control matters within Europe. Melanie joined NG from Airbus DS Airborne Solutions where she has been Head of Legal with a primary focus on Government contracting with the German MOD and advising on regulatory issues particularly export control and UAV space. Prior to this, Melanie worked at Jenoptik Defence & Civil Systems and GNS Gesellschaft fuer Nuklear Service mbH as Legal Counsel and Head of Legal Affairs and Export Control respectively. Melanie is a German qualified lawyer and was admitted to the German Bar in 2001 and has furthermore earned a master’s degree in International Commercial Law from the University of California, Davis.
