Rebekah Smith
Biography
Rebekah Smith is the founder and executive director of Labor Mobility Partnerships, where her mission is to create better job opportunities for half a billion workers from low-income countries by 2050. An economist and policy entrepreneur, Rebekah has spent nearly a decade leading efforts to expand the scope and quality of migration pathways. Before starting Labor Mobility Partnerships (LaMP) during the pandemic, Rebekah was a Policy Fellow at the Center for Global Development, where she pioneered in a new approach to increasing migration from low to high income countries. Before that, Rebekah worked at the World Bank where she worked to design operations facilitating cross-border mobility. Smith is a non-resident fellow at the Center for Global Development (CGD), working with the migration, displacement, and humanitarian policy team, as well as an Innovation Fellow at Schmidt Futures. She has a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a bachelor’s degree in economics and international studies.
