Biography

International lawyer with 20 years of experience in insurance claims, legal and compliance environments. Benno started his career at Zurich Insurance Company in the international claims department, specializing in pharmaceutical and chemical liability claims. 4 years later, he joined Zurich's internal reinsurance department as legal counsel, responsible for all sorts of reinsurance legal transactions (treaty wordings, novations, commutations, swaps, bonds, etc.). In 2012, Benno was sent to the Asia Pacific regional head-office in Hong Kong as Regional Compliance Officer, managing the compliance function in the APAC region. After his return to the global corporate center in 2016, he acted as Group Financial Crime Officer, before assuming his present position as Compliance Officer for the Commercial Insurance business division.
