Scott Thomas
Biography
Scott Thomas heads the political law practice at Blank Rome LLP. He is a partner at Blank Rome LLP and a senior principal at Blank Rome Government Relations LLC. His team provides advice to clients on campaign finance law, election law, 'pay to play' law, ethics law, lobbying law, and tax law related to the foregoing. Clients include businesses, trade groups, labor/management groups, political organizations, nonprofit organizations, and individuals who seek compliance advice and/or help with regulatory or enforcement matters. Scott served as a presidentially appointed Commissioner at the Federal Election Commission, being elected Chairman four times. Before that, he served there as executive and legal advisor to a commissioner and as an assistant general counsel for enforcement. During his time at the Commission, Scott was involved at various times with the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Election Law, the FEC Office of Election Administration, and the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws. He obtained a B.A. degree from Stanford University and a J.D degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
