Biography

Nina Gardner is the director of Strategy International, a corporate sustainability advisory firm founded in 2000. She works with companies to improve their commitment to sustainability and the SDGs, and with investors to better understand Environmental, Social, and Governance risks in their portfolios. She has worked closely with the UN Global Compact working group on CFOs and sustainability. Gardner has been teaching Corporate Sustainability, Business and Human Rights as an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins SAIS since 2013, and prior to that at the Washington College of Law at American University. Ms. Gardner is a graduate of Columbia Law School (where she was awarded a Greenberg Human Rights Fellowship to work on the Bhopal case with an Indian public interest human rights firm); she practiced law in Washington DC with Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue and then in Prague with Squires, Sanders, & Dempsey and worked as political officer with the UN Peacekeeping Operations at the UN Liaison Office in Zagreb from 1996-2000.
