A webinar presented by the IBA Leisure Industries Section
e-Sports is a fast-expanding industry that now generates billions of dollars a year. This expansion is beginning to highlight many of the industry's legal issues.
The speakers on this webinar will first explore the nature and definition of e-Sports then look at relevant legal issues within their own and other jurisdictions. Key areas involved include intellectual property, e-Sports sponsorships and partnerships, integrity issues, regulation and governance, gambling aspects and likely disputes.
Is the e-Sports industry a 'wild west in need of taming' as some people claim or is it just a case of adapting and applying traditional sports' legal models?
This webinar will be particularly topical and pertinent as it coincides with the finals of the Olympic Esports Series 2023 in Singapore from 22 to 25 June.
