Andreas Kloyer, European Regional Forum Liaison Officer
Tell us briefly about your title, areas of responsibility and specific function as an officer
As European Regional Forum Liaison Officer, I help develop good working relations with the European Regional Forum. We work on many joint activities throughout the year, including sector conferences like the Automotive Conference in Munich, combining mutual areas of interest. The field for setting a footprint on behalf of the Committee is vast. There are many opportunities to celebrate your own creativity in contributing to or organising events of various formats.
What do you want to achieve during your tenure as an officer of this committee?
My intention is to continue helping develop the well-established arrangement of occasions, for professional and personal exchanges among international friends who share the enthusiasm and aspiration of changing things internationally for their clients – and, sometimes, for themselves. This means contributing to shaping an open-minded and friendly atmosphere for interesting and inspiring conversations between friends from different regions worldwide. This creates an unique thrill for me as an officer of the Committee.
Tell us about three characteristics that describe yourself, other than the fact that you are a good lawyer
Creativity, curiosity and open-mindedness
If you had two hours every week to do anything you wanted, what would it be and why?
I would probably take my race bike and ride up into the mountains. It turns out that the fresh and clear mountain air, combined with exercise, is the ideal setting for me to develop new ideas and take decisions that might pave my way through phases to come.
Please give us a message for all committee members
If you are looking out for an international family of friends, there might hardly be a better place than the Closely Held Committee to look at. It will be long until you start feeling like you’ve been with this ‘family’ for almost your entire professional career – and more.
Sharanya Ranga, Website Officer and Asia Pacific Regional Forum Liaison Officer
Tell us briefly about your title, areas of responsibility and specific function as an officer
As Website Officer for our committee, I am responsible to help keep our committee pages up to date – with information on conferences, projects and publications. As Asia Pacific Regional Forum Liaison Officer, my role is to engage with the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) and enhance the visibility of the Closely Held Committee amongst its officers/members, and explore opportunities leading to greater participation in Closely Held events from the Asia Pacific region.
What do you want to achieve during your tenure as an officer of this committee?
Greater visibility for the Closely Held Committee in the APF and increased participation of APF members in various conferences/ projects of the Closely Held Committee.
Tell us about three characteristics that describe yourself, other than the fact that you are a good lawyer
I think I would describe myself as empathetic, curious and generally having a sunny disposition.
If you had two hours every week to do anything you wanted, what would it be and why?
If I had two hours every week, I would love to go birdwatching – observing different species of birds in their natural environment gives me a tremendous sense of calm and peace.
Please give us a message for all committee members
The Closely Held Committee is a warm, welcoming and dynamic committee, always trying to live up to its closely held name in innovative ways. I am happy to be part of this vibrant committee and contribute in whatever small manner I can.
