The International Bar Association (IBA) Legal Policy & Research Unit (LPRU) has created a series of podcast episodes covering the role of the global legal community in meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
This conversation is part of the LPRU’s ongoing gender project ‘50:50 by 2030’. After speaking with Georgia Dawson, Senior Partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, we now speak with senior lawyer Marlen Estévez.
In this episode, Beatriz Martínez, IBA LPRU Project Lawyer, speaks with Marlen Estévez, partner of the Spanish law firm RocaJunyent, and a member of its board of directors.
They discuss the results of the recently published ‘50:50 by 2030’ report on Spain, the different initiatives RocaJunyent has in place addressing gender equality as well as those perceived to be most effective in achieving a healthy and diverse workforce. The conversation continues with Marlen sharing her experience and reflections in building a successful career in law, and the importance of finding a healthy balance between work and a rich life outside of work.
Marlen is also the founder of Women in a Legal World, an association whose aim is to promote and make visible the female talent in the Spanish legal sector and create a meeting place for women to connect, inspire and help each other.
