Robert S Mueller III served as the sixth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the United States' well-known domestic intelligence and security service (with both intelligence and law enforcement responsibilities), from September 2001 to September 2013. He speaks to the IBA about how 9/11 changed the FBI’s priorities as an organisation, as well as the role and challenges posed by technology, encryption and cyber security in the fight against international terrorism.
