IBA Bar Programme Scholarship
IBA Developing Bar Programme
The IBA provides a scholarship programme to several selected bar associations and law societies located in developing countries, by which these associations and societies, in turn, are able to offer young lawyers (up to and including the age of 35) within their jurisdiction, the opportunity to participate in the IBA Annual Conference, but who may find it financially difficult to do so
Eligible persons (current members of the relevant bar associations or law societies, up to and including the age of 35, and with over 3 years legal practice and experience) who wish to apply for this programme must contact the relevant bar association/society directly to request application details.
Candidates who are presented to the IBA for consideration of the programme scholarship will be pre-selected by the individual bar or law society.
The IBA Developing Bar Programme Scholarship award includes the following:
- waived registration fee for the IBA Annual Conference
- contribution towards return economy flight to the conference city/country
- accommodation (room and breakfast) while attending the Annual Conference
- Stipend; £50 per day
Participating bars and societies are asked to submit their candidates to the IBA.
This programme is open to lawyers who meet the eligibility criteria and who have not attended a previous IBA Annual Conference.
