SUMMARY:Overreach around the world - recent case studies from around the
 world\, UK\, Cyprus\, Switzerland & USA
DESCRIPTION:Courts and government actors often overreach to limit or rest
rain efforts to effectively represent victims of fraud and corruption. C
ourts can often issue procedural and substantive rulings that overreach\
, intentional or not\, that limit the ability to obtain crucial evidence
and/or to limit the ability to restrain and repatriate proceeds of frau
d and corruption. Other government actors often\, well intentioned or no
t\, overreach in a manner that makes it difficult or effectively impossi
ble to obtain recoveries for victims of fraud and corruption. This panel
will explore the limits and motivations of this judicial and government
al overreach and how it might be mitigated.\n
