DESCRIPTION:The United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agr
 eements Resulting from Mediation (New York\, 2018) (the "Singapore Conve
 ntion on Mediation") was adopted on 20 December 2018 and was open for si
 gnature on 7 August 2019. 55 states have signed the Convention with 9 st
 ates having ratified. The Convention has been described as the “Missing 
 Third Piece in the International Dispute Resolution Enforcement Framewor
 k”. This session will explore the need for and style of ethical guidelin
 es or standards for mediation under this regime and how they will operat
 e. The Mediation Committee is working on a project to develop internatio
 nal standards and will share progress with the audience.
