SUMMARY:Corporate liability for international criminal law violations
DESCRIPTION:HumanRightsMultinational corporations are increasingly facing
  allegations of involvement in atrocity crimes. This panel will explore 
 past and current cases where corporate entities and/or their officers ha
 ve been investigated and\, in some cases\, criminally charged for core i
 nternational crimes such as war crimes and crimes against humanity. For 
 example\, in France\, the cement company Lafarge faces charges of crimes
  against humanity committed in Syria\, and in Sweden\, Lundin Energy exe
 cutives have been charged with aiding and abetting war crimes in South S
 udan. The panel will look at the general framework for such liability\, 
 and the challenges faced in the investigation and prosecution of alleged
  corporate perpetrators.
